As the drama of the summer transfer window begins to die down and all Chelsea’s new players get settled in, the next task for the club’s new owners will begin.
It certainly won’t be a case of relaxing now after all their hard work in the summer. The next point of call will be to bring in a sporting director to help with the football operations, as well as a new head scout, or head of recruitment as it is named at Chelsea.
This is because the man who has been doing that role, Scott McLachlan, has left the club, as announced officially on Saturday evening.
The Telegraph report that Boehly and Clearlake are set to step up their bid to appoint a new sporting director now the transfer window is shut and they are likely to also appoint a new head of scouting to replace McLachlan.

Why is the issue of sporting director for Chelsea becoming so difficult? I’m suggesting the club take it’s searchlight on former players like Michael Ballack, Juliani Balleti or even Didier Drogba.

I go for Didier Drogba because he must be very likely be in line with modern demands of players, especially in specific positions on the field. He is a recent graduate from the Chelsea pitch.

It seems, even after is brought, he/she won’t have enough freedom to bring a new player, especially younger players, will be dictated by the bosses and the coach. But let’s hope for the best.
Boehly should consider bringing the legend t the fold like Drogba, Ballack, Makelele, Zola, Cole’s and Essien for the post of the sporting director and head coach has well.
