Chelsea’s ‘heavy spending to continue’ into the January transfer window

According to The Evening Standard, Chelsea spent a whopping £273m in the summer transfer window that ended last Thursday.

They certainly showed up in that sense. However, according to the same report as above, Chelsea’s heavy spending is going to continue into the winter transfer window that opens in January.

They state that Chelsea still want to invest in the midfielder and will be looking to do so this coming January.

Chelsea made a £40m move for Ajax midfielder Edson Alvarez last week and are set to revisit their search for a midfielder in January, with the Mexico international thought to be their preferred option, per the report.
