Chelsea’s new manager Graham Potter has taken his first training session today, after spending yesterday meeting club staff and seeing Cobham up close.
The former Brighton boss introduced himself to the players and got down to work drilling them, with just under a week until his first game in charge.
The postponement of this weekend’s games means that instead of being rushed in to a match against Fulham in Saturday’s early kick off, he will make his debut in a home game against RB Salzburg in the Champions League group stage next Wednesday.
That’s a welcome bonus for Potter, who won’t face the usual rush of a manager put in place just hours or days before a game.
Of course, the game will have to be played later in the year, but for now, this can only be a good thing for the new era at the Chelsea getting off to a strong start.
