Chelsea had their open training session today ahead of tomorrow night’s game against RB Salzburg, and as always the session was treated by the reporters and cameramen on site as a way to break injury news.
They did a quick headcount and noted two absences. N’Golo Kante’s injury means nobody is expecting to see him back for a while, but Edouard Mendy was also apparently not there with the rest of the group.
We certainly can’t spot him in Sky Sports’ clips from the session.
After starting very strongly at Chelsea his form has dipped, and there are questions about whether the new coach will give him a run in the first team.
He got a kick in the ribs in the controversial incident a few weeks ago against West Ham, but that surely wasn’t a long term issue.
Graham Potter will surely be asked about it in the press conference to follow, and we will keep you updated on what he says in further posts.
