One of the most interesting moments of the early part of Graham Potter’s time as Chelsea manager was his first teamsheet.
It gave some insight into his thinking in terms of the formation, and most assumed we were playing a back four when they saw the names they bad picked.
But against all odds it was Raheem Sterling wide left and Marc Cucurella as an inside left centre back. Potter was asked about the shape after the game and gave some interesting insight on his thinking.

It did get both players space, as James and Mount worked well in tandem down the right and Sterling kept finding space at the back post, including the situation which led to his nice goal.
There was a general lack of composure and good finishing in the game, but we made chances. The question will be what to do with all the centre backs we just bought.
