Player reveals it was Todd Boehly who intervened to ensure his future

Chelsea owner Todd Boehly is making sure to secure the future of the club with some of the biggest talents around, and that doesn’t just mean new signings of top young talents.

Boehly is also keen to protect the assets he already has at the club as well, and that means making sure that they are developing first and foremost, and also that they can develop and then come back to Chelsea and have every chance to still make it there.

You can see that young players getting chances at the club is hugely important to the new owner, and that only means good things for player such as Callum Hudson-Odoi, who went out on loan to Bayern Leverkusen this summer.

The German club wanted an option to buy the winger at the end of the loan, but Boehly didn’t want this and he had a personal meeting with Hudson-Odoi to make sure he knew that he was in the plans of the club for the future.

As reported by The Daily Mail, Hudson-Odoi said:

“When a club is trying to get a player [on loan], they always want that option to buy at the end of the season. Todd was saying: ‘Listen, we want you back here.’

“You’re still on the radar of being wanted by the club. The way he’s trying to set it up, there are a lot of young players he’s trying to buy for the next few years. It shows he wants to integrate the players into the team and help them develop.”

  1. That should be the direction of the Chelsea club. To make it a secure and reliable employer. This will motivate the players to productive assets.
