Modern day football fans can be very impatient, and we have all seen and witnessed it.
Especially at a club like Chelsea, when instant success is expected. Of course, as a fan you are always entitled to offer your opinions and criticisms, but as always, many just take it too far and call for players to get out of the club and even worse, abuse them. It can be very toxic.
Former Chelsea player Tammy Abraham has highlighted this in recent comments, and he speaks about Blues fans telling him to get out of the club. He says that one moment they can be saying this and calling him a flop, and then the next moment calling him ‘King Drogba’, obviously comparing him to legendary striker Didier Drogba.
I think it’s a lot worse on social media, but it can also happen in stadium.
As reported by The Daily Mail, Abraham says:
“I had some moments at Chelsea where I was called a flop and told to ‘Get out!’ And if I scored, they were calling me King Drogba.”
