The Chelsea lineup today has some interesting selections as Graham Potter looks to freshen up his team.
The fact that the Blues have gone to a 433 means there are suddenly more opportunities than ever for the midfielders, at the expense of the centre backs.
Both Conor Gallagher and Ruben Loftus-Cheek are handed a start in the middle, with both hopefully adding a lot of dynamism alongside Jorginho’s control.
Not only do we get to see both of those academy boys in action, it also improves our chances of seeing Carney Chukwuemeka or Denis Zakaria for the first time in Blue too.
With three central midfielders on the pitch, Graham Potter could easily switch two over the course of the game, with one of the pair likely to follow Mateo Kovacic on to the pitch if the coach makes that call.
Either way, we’re excited to see their first touches as Chelsea players.
