Chelsea lead 1-0!
Mason Mount swung in a brilliant cross, and Kai Havertz rose above his marker to get a head on it. His looping effort flew over Jose Sa to give the Blues the lead with the last touch of the first period.
Until then Chelsea had been totally dominant but couldn’t score. Frustration was growing, and there were already shots of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, who has scored in our last two games, warming up. This eases the pressure all round, and now those guys on the bench can really get a proper rest.
