Armando Broja scored his first Chelsea goal as a sub yesterday against Wolves, a really nice finish after he was set through by Mateo Kovacic.
It was a perfectly timed run and pass – so perfectly that there was a hint of offside and VAR had to check it.
Speaking to Sky Sports about the goal after the game, Broja admitted that in the moments after it went in he was “just keeping my fingers crossed” that it was going to count.
With Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang rested yesterday, a start in midweek looks impossible for Broja – but if keeps playing like this as a sub, a start isn’t far away.
