Juventus are monitoring N’Golo Kante’s situation at Chelsea, according to a report from Football Italia today.
The midfielder’s contract at Chelsea expires at the end of this season, and there doesn’t seem to have been much progress on securing him to a new one. It’s not even clear how much the club are desperate to keep him, after several consecutive seasons seriously disrupted by injury.
Juventus had made a habit of picking up smart free transfers for a while, although recent investments on older stars like Aaron Ramsey, Cristiano Ronaldo and Angel Di Maria haven’t worked out so well.
Kante would certainly be one of their riskier moves – his injury issues have made sure of that – but if they can get just one or two solid years out of him they might consider it worthwhile.
We will see how he gets on for us once he returns later on this season.
