Chelsea value Jorginho’s leadership skills as contract situation bubbles up

Chelsea currently have the exact same situation as I was typing about this time last year, except last time it was two key centre backs, and this time it is two key centre midfielders.

Last year it ended with both Antonio Rudiger and Andreas Christensen leaving Chelsea as free agents and going elsewhere. This year, could the same thing happen with Jorginho and N’Golo Kante?

Well, our latest sourced report over at Si & Dan Talk Chelsea today on the midfield situation at Chelsea and which players they are targeting to come in over the next two windows, would suggest that confidence is not currently high that both players will extend.

In Jorginho’s case, the report states that some at Chelsea really value his leadership skills and experience, but they would only be keen to extend on their own terms, so it would be on Jorginho if he would be prepared to accept that or whether he still has an eye on a return to Italy.
