It was as recently as yesterday morning that we reported on Wesley Fofana back in training and looking delighted. We wrote that it was a huge boost for the team, and would hopefully lead to a strong second half of the season for him after he barely featured before the World Cup after picking up an injury soon after signing for big money this summer.
Well, it looks like we jinxed it. Fofana appears to have picked up an injury in the friendly game against Brentford today.
Simon Philips has written on his Substack that the France defender went off looking “upset” after his latest setback.
For all we know it could be pretty minor, but given our luck in the last couple of years, and given Fofana’s recent record, you can’t blame us for being pessimistic here.
We’re all praying and waiting for Graham Potter’s next press conference now.
