Romano: Wesley Fofana back ‘in three or four weeks after new injury’

It seems like it’s not the worst diagnosis for Wesley Fofana, after he was struck down with another knee injury in a behind-closed-doors friendly against Brentford yesterday.

Chelsea won the game 5-1, with Kai Havertz scoring a hat-trick. But all the noise and concerns after the game surrounded another knee injury for Wesley Fofana, in his first game back since injuring (possibly the same) his knee before the World Cup.

Sources: Chelsea register an interest in signing ‘the next Sergio Busquets’

However, although it’s still not ideal and the best news, it does look like the injury is not serious, as first feared by many.

Fabrizio Romano has put out the report below this afternoon saying that Fofana will be out for three to four weeks, and that it is not serious, after presumably having a scan today.

Fofana will still be gutted, as he was set to return against Bournemouth on the 27th of this month, but that return must now wait even longer.
