Van Ginkel eyes Chelsea Return

Marco Van Ginkel has targeted a return to action for Chelsea after making a rapid recovery from a serious knee ligament injury.

Chelsea signed the central midfielder from Vitesse Arnheim last season for £8 million but injury occurred in only his fourth game for Chelsea away to Swindon back in September.

The Dutch International was expected to be out for the whole of this season but has already begun light training, his goal is to force himself back into the Chelsea reckoning and in doing so hopefully win himself a place on the plane to Brazil.

“The surgeon had rarely seen such a speedy recovery. Together with the fact that I was as fit as a fiddle, this has ensured I am so well now”

“I volunteer at 9am at the club, get treated, warm myself up in the gym or pool and then go to the physiotherapist on the field. Now I can already change direction, reverse, cut, turn and shoot. Actually I can do anything.”

Van Ginkel aiming for Brazilian World Cup

“The World Cup would be a bonus, because I am only focused on my recovery. My main goal is to get fully match fit again, and if that works in the short term, you never know what can result.”

Marco posted this video a few days ago to his official Instagram account.
