Chelsea vs Man City: Gary Cahill guarantees Chelsea fans will not see his squad using the same tactic as West Ham did against Chelsea on Wednesday.
Jose Mourinho was left angry and frustrated by the way West Ham secured a goalless draw at Stamford Bridge on Wednesday.
The result left Chelsea three points behind league leaders and upcoming opponents Manchester City. “This is not the best league in the world,” said Mourinho. “This is clearly football from the 19th century.”
When Gary Cahill was asked if Jose will send out his defenders to protect the box as much as West Ham did, he said, “No, no… That was another level on Wednesday night. We won’t be as defensive as that against Manchester City, but of course we will try and keep it tight because they’re banging goals in at the moment.”
Chelsea vs Man City
Even though Manchester City are favourites to win the League title this year, Mourinho keeps things in perspective: “For how many months have I said the same thing? One team is an ending product while the other one is trying to build something strong for the future!
“For me it is not a surprise how well Man City are doing at the moment. We go there on Monday and the result at this moment is 0-0. Are they favourites? Yes. Are they favourites to score again four, five, six goals? Yes. But it’s 0-0 now and we go there to compete,” added the Portuguese.
