Jose Mourinho has confirmed that no strikers will be purchased until the summer, despite many transfer rumours.
The Blues will not be making any transfers this January but will be looking for a striker in the summer, many fans were hopeful to see new faces but the special one insisted he was happy with his squad.
“We’re preparing the next season more than this season. We still have a few hours of market we did other things but not the striker.”
As the transfer window draws to a close, Jose made it clear that signing someone in January would not work in the long term.
“We don’t want to do things like emergency plans. It’s not our profile now. We know it’s difficult but our objective is to finish in the CL spot. That’s the competitive objective. The great objective is the improvement of the team.”
Mourinho building for the future
Chelsea brought Kurt Zouma in before loaning him back to St Etienne, other clubs from the Premier league and some spanish clubs were very keen to sign the young French International but Jose said it was the right time to sign him.
“If we don’t do it now, we can’t do it in the summer because other clubs were very strong on him.”
Mourinho is currently looking to build a strong team for at least the 3 next seasons, and with the likes of Matic, Salah and Zouma, it is likely to happen.
“Zouma is very tall and strong so I’d say he’s physically ready but being tactically good is another thing. I say well done Chelsea, the last thing in the transfer window. We have the present and we have the future.”
