David Ornstein is reporting that Chelsea have agreed terms with Villareal striker Nicolas Jackson and will now striker a deal with his club to complete his signing.
The respected Athletic writer points out that Jackson has a €35m release clause which the club can activate if necessary. The deal will likely end up close to that anyway, but Chelsea will likely prefer to structure it so require less money up front.

Jackson looks like a real menace – an all round striker with finishing, physicality and pace. Still just 21, he’s got plenty of room to grow too. He almost signed for Bournemouth in January, let’s hope that he proves to be a player of a significantly higher standard than that.
His end to the season with the Cherries was exceptional, and if he can keep up that kind of form in the Premier League he will be a smash hit. It’s nice to have at least wrapped up an option for the season to come – whether he will be a success is another question.
