Jacob Steinberg is reporting that Chelsea are not going to ask for a transfer fee for Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang to join Marseille.
They signed the striker just a year ago, but within 12 months they are so keen to get rid of him that they’re not going battle the French side for the few million they might get. Their priority is to clear out their final unwanted players, and it seems they are willing to take any loss necessary to do so in the next few days.

They don’t mention a fee either, but say that the “details of his exit are being finalised” and that personal terms have been agreed.
That phrase in particular does indeed make it sound like his contract is being terminated.
We’ve fallen a long way from the €7m or so we were apparently holding out for a week ago.
About time we get rid of him. Now we need to rid ourselves of Lukaku.
