Chelsea agree surprise €45m deal for defender – but one star youngster may feel left out

Chelsea are having an odd summer – their top target, Moises Caicedo, is proving impossible to sign, after months of grinding attractional negotiations.

Yet their other targets are being lined up and then signed extremely quietly and efficiently. The ultimate example comes today, with David Ornstein reporting from absolutely nowhere that the Blues have agreed a fee with Monaco for defender Axel Disasi.

The France international is clearly seen as a solution at the back following Wesley Fofana’s latest long term injury.

The clubs have agreed a €45m fee, and the transfer should be completed swiftly, with the 25 year old ready to play right centre back alongside his old Monaco teammate Benoit Badiashile, or alongside Levi Colwill or Thiago Silva.

Colwill is the only player we have to worry about here – we had just about convinced him he would get minutes this season. How will he be feeling now, upon hearing this news?

  1. What utter rubbish.

Colwill plays on the left, and Disasi on the right, so the latter is no threat
