Chelsea could snap up bargain full back they don’t need for €10m

Chelsea are still being linked with Valladolid right back Ivan Fresneda, who Barcelona have also been chasing for some time, until Joao Cancelo became their top target.

The Blues have Reece James as their first choice and the recently arrived Malo Gusto as backup, yet the highly rated Fresneda is still being linked.

Perhaps it’s just the vale for money on offer that’s attracting us. Mundo Deportivo report that Fresneda could be available for just €10m plus bonuses. The plan would be for us to sign him and then loan him out, apparently.

On the one hand we don’t need him – on the other hand, at that price, it seems a deal too good to miss out on. Even if we just park him at Strasbourg, it seems almost impossible he doesn’t end up being worth 2 or 3 times that. In fact, back in January, it seemed like Arsenal might be willing to pay that.

  1. Acaso James cuenta como una plaza? Si se la pasa más en el hospital que en el campo. Claro que necesitamos un lateral derecho, no podemos atenernos a que Gusto soporte toda la temporada.
