Transfer Talk: Cavani & Bamford

If the latest gossip regarding Chelsea’s strikers is anything to go by, it could be a case of one striker in, one striker out at Stamford Bridge.

Metro are reporting that a close friend of Chelsea target Edison Cavani has told the press that the striker is happy to quit French giants PSG in the summer.

They also report that this ‘close friend’ is also a Fifa agent.

Cavani is a reported long-standing target of the Blues, and Chelsea were hopeful of signing him before he joined PSG for £52 million last summer.

However, they may have been given a huge boost in the race to sign him, with Francois Gallardo, friend of Cavani, suggesting he could quit the French champions:

“There is a player of the squad at PSG who is not comfortable and wants to leave called Cavani. If clubs want to sign him – it would soon be time to make a move.”

Chelsea’s striker issues have been well documented this year, with players such as Diego Costa also reported targets for Jose Mourinho.

On the other hand, Blues fans will be disappointed to hear of the other transfer news that Metro are reporting, regarding their club.

Chelsea’s Strikers: Bamford

Patrick Bamford, who has been on two loan spells away from Chelsea this season, is a reported target for London rivals Tottenham.

The 20 year old has scored 26 goals this season during loan spells with MK Dons and, currently, Derby County.

It had previously been reported that Chelsea would look for a Premier League loan deal for the striker next season, but Tottenham are apparently looking to take him away permanently.

The news will come as a surprise for Blues fans with there being no previous reports that Chelsea were looking to sell the youngster, but with the potential he is currently showing in the lower leagues, which team wouldn’t want to take him off Chelsea’s hands?
