Karen Carney joined Jamie Carragher and Gary Neville on Monday Night Football yesterday, and the show did a feature on Chelsea’s 16 months of lavish spending.
They’re all pretty measured and balanced in their opinions, and they’re hardly reactionary, with all of them agreeing that there’s no shortage of potential on the list of players brought in.
But what they all agree is that it’s mad to have spent a billion pounds and still not be universally considered favourite to make the top four at least. There’s potential, and then there’s just wasteful gambling.
