Atletico striker Diego Costa has verbally agreed to join Chelsea in the summer, with Chelsea reportedly willing to meet his £32m release-clause.
La Sexta reported the information which must be taken with a hefty pinch of salt because the Spanish publication’s source is notorious super-agent Francois Gallardo, who has a reputation for making extravagant and inaccurate claims.
That said, Costa has been linked with the Blues by a variety of respected sources this month, while Arsenal are also thought to be tracking the 25-year-old, who has scored 23 goals in as many appearances for Atletico so far this season.
Diego Costa to help depleted strikeforce
With Demba Ba & Samuel Eto’o primed for summer exits and Fernando Torres not reaching the form he had before his recent injuries – boss Jose Mourinho is likely to enter the transfer market for a striker in the summer.
