Mourinho: Hazard can only get better

Eden Hazard, quite arguably the crowning jewel in Belgium’s golden generation, has been in sparkling form for the Blues this season. However, the ever-grounded Mourinho, whilst in awe of his raw capabilities, insists that the young Belgian still has room for improvement.

“At the age of 23 to be where he is, we can only expect better,” the Portuguese said.

“I cannot expect him to be the match winner every game. But we are very happy with him. He has improved a lot in every aspect”.

Mourinho refuses to draw comparisons between the former Lille man and Belgium’s other great export, chocolate.Eden’s silky moves and ability to entertain a crowd are in like fashion to other Premier League stars such as the talented but troubled Dimitar Berbatov.

Hazard training harder

However, the 50 year old insists Hazard is not a luxury player, and that his attitude is considerably better than it was upon his arrival on English shores,

“He was known as one of the worst trainers. He was training to have some fun. Always having a joke. Not top concentration.

“He has become – I don’t say one of the best – but a good professional in training.

“He works very hard for the team. He’s trying now all the time to be an influence in our game. He’s getting this responsibility.”

Having made Ligue 1 his own playground, there have been rumours linking the French Player of the Year winner with a return to the country where he made his name, as free-spending giants PSG are looking to snap up his services.

However, Mourinho moved to ensure all that follow the Blues can rest a little easier at night,

“Between our tag of ‘not to sell’, plus the crazy amount that he can be valued at in this moment, I think there’s no chance that Eden is going to leave”,

If Hazard was to move to the French capital, rest assured it would be a blow felt not only by the Chelsea faithful, but by lovers of the beautiful game played in England.
