Zouma on Mourinho’s radar

Chelsea are reportedly monitoring 19 year old French defender, Kurt Zouma. The St Etienne center half has drawn attention from some of Europe’s top clubs, with Inter Milan and Monaco also keeping tabs on the youngster.

Agent, David Venditelli, is apparently looking to secure the 10 million rated star a move away from the Stade Geoffrey-Guichard where he is currently serving a 10 match ban for a horror tackle on Sochaux’s Thomas Guerbert.

Venditelli believes Stamford Bridge would be a promising destination for Zouma as he could benefit from the manager’s tutelage,

“At Chelsea, Zouma could work with Jose Mourinho and he could help Kurt to make (a) big improvement. That’s why Chelsea is also an interesting option for us”.

Loaning Zouma back out

Of course, the under 21 star would do well to usher either John Terry, David Luiz or Gary Cahill out of the starting 11.

So it is suggested that if he was to be purchased, the young defender would be loaned straight back to St Etienne for the remainder of the current campaign.

“This could allow Kurt to end the season in an atmosphere he (has) now known for years, while securing his future.”

Whether Mourinho decides to move for the Frenchman or not, he is certainly one to watch in the future.
