Courtois coming home to Chelsea

According to reports by Twitter account, ‘The Belgian Waffle’, Thibaut Courtois’ father claims he will join his parent club next season.

The Blues’ loan-star has endeared a host of top European clubs with his consistent and cultured displays. Currently plying his trade at Atletico Madrid, the young Belgian has been a fundamental asset in their unlikely assault on the La Liga title.

Although Courtois has made a name for himself at the Vincente Calderon, his allegiance belongs to Chelsea, having signed for the Premier League outfit in 2011.

Of course, his lack of opportunity for the Blues is directly related to the quality of current Chelsea shot-stopper, Petr Cech.

Recently voted the greatest Premier League goalkeeper of all time, ushering the experienced Czech international out of the squad has proved a task too large for the 21 year old Belgian.

There has been much speculation surrounding Courtois’ future, with the likes of Atletico, Real Madrid and Barcelona all vying for his signature on a permanent deal; but reports close to young Courtois are suggesting Stamford Bridge is where his future lies.

‘The Belgian Waffle’, a Twitter account that deals exclusively in the comings and goings of Belgian internationals has tweeted saying Thibaut’s father has confirmed his next career move,

“Thierry Courtois tells RTBF that his son will leave Atletico at end of season for Chelsea, rather than Barcelona or Real Madrid.”

Courtois swap looks less likely

If the reports are to be believed, those who were fearing the loss of the worlds most promising young goalkeeper in a make-weight deal for Diego Costa can rest a little easier.

Simeone has billed him ‘priceless’ and it isn’t hard to see why. Young, athletic and experienced beyond his years, Thibaut truly has the makings of a Premier League star.
