Mourinho: In ten minutes we destroyed them

Rampant Chelsea battered Arsenal with a 6-0 victory at Stamford Bridge giving Jose Mourinho his biggest win as Chelsea manager.

Chelsea inflicted Arsenal to their joint heaviest defeat under Arsene Wenger, who was celebrating his 1000th game in charge. Jose Mourinho’s Chelsea also defeated Wenger in his 500th game in charge of the Gunners in 2005.

Stat Attack: Jose Mourinho has won six and drawn five of his 11 meetings with Chelsea against Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger.

Speaking to BT Sport, Mourinho said: “I think we start in an incredible way, in seven minutes it was 2-0 and the game is over. I think we started very, very strong. I think the message was to make Arsenal feel uncomfortable, we tried to press immediately and recover and be fast. 2-0 after seven minutes the game is over, because we were too strong for them.”

“After that comes the penalty and the red card, even worse for them, but I think the game was resolved in 10 minutes.”

Despite the emphatic win over Arsenal, Jose Mourinho says that Chelsea are obviously” not the favourites for the title.

Mourinho: “We go match after match. We play Palace next and after that we go to Paris”.

Mourinho also joked when asked if his side can win the Premier League title by saying “If they let us”.
