Porto and France international player Eliaquim Mangala could be set to snub interest from the champions Manchester City and join Chelsea.
The manager Manuel Pelligrini came to close to signing him on a deadline transfer in January, but he could be a potential target next season as Pelligrini is seeking a true class central defender.
However, the central defender from France, who is interesting Manchester United and Paris St Germain, appears to favour Chelsea
Asked why would he choose Chelsea, the defender told BeIn Sport: “Chelsea because it is in London”.
“It is true that I love the Premier League because it is a spectacular championship. I am an ambitious player and the team that can help me win titles is the one that interests me.”
Eliaquim Mangala has been selected by his national manager Didier Deschamps amongst the 23 players, so the central defender will travel to Brazil next month to play the World Cup, but insists he wants to remain focused and help his team win it.
“My goal now is the World Cup. We will see what happens after that. I told [agent] Jorge Mendes that I don’t want to know anything about the transfer window until then.”
