Schurrle Insists Hazard Will Stay

Chelsea’s Eden Hazard has been the subject of a big-money move away from Stamford Bridge this season, with the all too familiar French league touted as the possible destination.

The Belgian boy wonder has enjoyed a fruitful second season in blue, having scored 14 Premier League goals and assisting seven in the same competition.

Yet, following their exit from the Champions League at the hands of Atlético Madrid, the 23-year-old had some rather coarse words for manager JosĂ© Mourinho.

Of course, the well-traveled Portuguese had an instant reply, and this public dispute led to continuing reports that the young gun could be hot on the heels of former Blue, David Luiz.

Amidst speculation, however, Chelsea attacker Andre Schurrle has moved to reassure the Stamford Bridge faithful.

“The manager and the club know that Eden Hazard is a very talented and good player. I think we should not overestimate these things” he said speaking at a German national team press conference.

“Of course statements were published, but I believe Eden is very happy to be with Chelsea and Mourinho is happy to have him. Next season everything will be all right again.”

With fan favourites Juan Mata and David Luiz having felt the bitter blow of Mourinho’s mighty hammer, there is certainly reason for concern amongst the Blues’ fans.

However, from a man who knows more than any media outlet, Schurrle’s words come as great comfort to those who were considering life beyond the young Belgian. PSG would most definitely offer a sum that would cushion the blow, but the mesmeric talents of Eden Hazard, as he has shown this season, are quite simply priceless.
