Chelsea have agreed a €33 million fee with Barcelona for midfielder Cesc Fabregas, according to Marca.
Fabregas will join the Blues on a four year contract worth €10 million a year before tax.
The 27-year-old has struggled to hold down a place in the starting eleven since moving to Barcelona. His decision to leave from the club is mainly due to the lack of support from their fans who have booed the midfielder on more than one occasion over the last two seasons.
Stat Attack: Only Lionel Messi (75) created more chances than Fabregas (58) for Barcelona last season.
Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho has also confirmed his interest in the former Arsenal captain:
“We have some interest. I have interest in analysing the situation. I think it looks like he is really interested in leaving Barcelona, and is very, very interested in coming back to England.â€
Chelsea are due to announce the signing of Diego Costa who has completed his medical and it looks like his Spanish team-mate Cesc Fabregas is set to follow him to Stamford Bridge.
