Twenty-year-old rising star Patrick Bamford has been touted as among the next generation of top attacking players and is set to be one of the three main strikers in Mourinho’s squad for the next season.
Chelsea loanee Patrick Bamford, who plays for Derby County, has a good long career ahead of him, and claims are being made that he will fill the substantial hole in the forwards of the Blues’ squad sometime in the near future.
Having begun his career at Nottingham Forest, Bamford was signed by Chelsea for a fee of £1.5 million on a five year contract. He was sent on loan to Milton Keynes Dons in November 2012, where his performance was met with much enthusiasm and awe. His loan was extended to the end of the season and then until January 2014, after which he was loaned to Derby County till the end of the season.
The English international, besides his goal scoring abilities, has also exhibited some potential in wing positions and the ability to provide assists under pressure. He enjoys shooting from great distances, and has enough to offer defensively as well. His aerial ability has also been given high commendation. These attributes, along with his slight but toughened build may mean that Chelsea’s need for a significant offence may be somewhat lessened.
The left-footed youth has already netted 25 goals in his career, and shows promise for many more. Depending on his performance in the various pre-season friendlies, Jose Mourinho will take a call as to a possible new and improved contract for the young talent.
Unfortunately, fellow teammate Romelu Lukaku has more experience at the same age, and even then, he has not been able to book himself a first team position. This indicates that the Englishman will have a tough fight ahead if he wants to prove his worth to Mourinho.

Is he Irish or English – make up your mind.
