Courtois set for chelsea return.

The recent speculation surrounding the future of Thibault Courtois may all be over as Atletico announced today the signing of a keeper from Getafe for a fee around €3 million euros plus add ons.

Could this spell the end of a three year loan spell for Courtois, he has reiterated the point that he does not want to return and sit on the bench or be used for cup competitions. He wants to play every match and be the first name on the team sheet, but what does this mean for Cech?

Cech has been a loyal servant for the club for many many years, most noticeably with his performances in our succesful champions league campaign. Out of respect for what he’s achieved for us, it would be wrong for us to let reside him to the bench. Any player that has been playing at the top of their game for so many years, to be then be used as a reserve player is not how it should be handled.

The departure of Frank Lampard and Ashley Cole has suggested that Cech might follow suit, with interest coming from PSG. No doubt I’m sure every Chelsea fan would seriously question Mourinho’s motives on his selling policy as we have seen David Luiz, Frank Lampard and Ashley Cole depart after many years serving the club.

If Thibault is Chelsea-bound then this is an exciting prospect for every fan as Diego Costa is set to become official later this week and speculation continues over the signing of Koke and Felipe Luis.
