Lampard: Chelsea will continue to be my life

England midfielder Frank Lampard has claimed that Chelsea will continue to be his life after spending 13 years playing for the club.

Chelsea confirmed on June 3, 2014 that Lampard would leave the club as the season has ended.

In relation to Jose Mourinho’s comments that Lampard would be a coach at Chelsea in future, the 36-year-old admitted his joy about his bossÂ’s comments.

The Chelsea legend told BBC Five Live during an interview.

“It is nice to hear Jose say that. In any capacity I would love to be involved at Chelsea – whether it be as manager, or just going back watching from the stands. It has been my life for the past 13 years and it will continue to be no matter what happens in the future.” He said.

ChelseaÂ’s all-time leading goalscorer added that the rapport that exists between Mourinho and him is a good one. He ended by saying that if he is to manage a team in future, it would be Chelsea.

“I have a good relationship with Mourinho, I always will,” he said. “He was a big influence on my career and the club is special to me. I don’t know what I will do after football but if there was any club I would want to manage then everyone knows who it would be.

Lampard is currently with EnglandÂ’s national team as they prepare to take on Costa Rica in their final game of the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil.
