Speaking to Marca, Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho revealed that he expects Ramires and Courtois to be Chelsea players next season.
He also revealed that he has full confidence that Atlético striker Diego Costa will be playing his football at Stamford Bridge next campaign.
Speaking to the Spanish outlet, Mourinho confirmed one of the worst kept secrets in world football: that he wanted Diego Costa at Chelsea next season:
“He is a footballer that I want to have in my team. I have asked my club to bring him to us and I have full confidence that we will achieve this and he will finally join Chelsea.”
Costa is a long term target for Chelsea as they look to solve the problem area of their squad, their strike force.
The Spanish international is currently in his native Brazil as he looks to help the Spanish side retain the World Cup trophy.
The boss also spoke about midfielder Ramires, who has been subject of speculation linking him with a move to European champions Real Madrid and a reunion with Carlo Ancelotti, who was the boss who brought him to West London.
However, Mourinho rubbished these rumours, claiming that Madrid knew the Brazilian was not for sale and reinforcing the fact that Ramires was still an integral part of his plans at Chelsea.
“Ramires stays at Chelsea, he will not be sold. I have a great friendship with important people at Real Madrid and they know that Ramires is staying at Chelsea.”
“They know that Ramires does not go, but they also know that I am not interested in any player of Real Madrid. Varane and Khedira? I repeat that I do not care for any Madrid player, this matter is over.”
Finally, he stated that Belgian goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois would be earning his trade at The Bridge next season, after three years out on loan at Atlético Madrid.
“At the end of the World Cup, Thibaut Courtois will return to Chelsea. Direct.”
While Chelsea fans will be pleased to hear this final bit of news, it may also spell the end of Petr Cech’s time in West London, with the Czech international unlikely to want to play second fiddle to anyone else at Chelsea.
