Hazard moving to the Bundesliga

No, don’t alarm, Eden Hazard is going nowhere, however his younger brother Thorgan Hazard will be plying his trade with Borussia Monchengladbach following a successful loan spell at Belgian side Zulte Waregem.

The sporting director of the German club, Max Eberl. announced his delight at the transfer after reaching an agreement with Chelsea. He stated that the club are eager to introduce players endowed with attacking ability and only a few details are left to be sorted before the deal can be announced:

We were always going to make an attacking signing, no matter what the situation is with Luuk de Jong and Peniel Mlapa, and this will be Thorgan Hazard.

“We have exchanged contracts with Chelsea and we have agreed with Thorgan, we have all agreed and now just need to sign the contracts.”

Without a doubt it would be excellent for Hazard’s career to develop in such a competitive league considering his young age. It is clear that the move is an improvement from his previous club Zulte, and should Hazard star in Germany it would be no surprise to hear that a number of Premier League sides will be fighting for his signature.

Ultimately Thorgan’s ambition is to play for Chelsea alongside his brother, however it is small improvements to his game at the moment which will be vital for his development, and of course the experience of playing in a competitive league.

It seems the deal will be concluded soon, thus allowing Hazard to adopt to his new surroundings at Borussia Monchengladbach and meet his new team mates in preparation for the pre-season. It will be interesting to see how Hazard can cope in Germany, I’m sure every Chelsea fan will wish him the best of luck in the next chapter of his football life.

Good luck Thorgan, Up the Chels!
