Omeruo patient with his Chelsea chance

Nigeria defender Kenneth Omeruo believes that patience is vital. Therefore he will get the opportunity to prove his worth at Chelsea at the right time.

Omeruo has currently signed a three-year contract with Chelsea that ties him at the club until 2018. He is yet to make his first appearance for Chelsea after playing on loan at ADO Den Haag and Middlesbrough. The defender first signed for Chelsea from Standard Liege in January 2012.

The 20-year-old claims that everything in life is step by step and Chelsea knows his capabilities thus why they gave him a new contract. For that reason he has to always give his best and let his football speak for him.

“I am not in a hurry [to break into the Chelsea team] because everything in life is step by step,” The Super Eagles defender told BBC Sport.

“At the right time, I’ll get my chance. For now, I believe in Middlesborough project and want to help the club compete for promotion.

“I was rewarded with a new contract because the club [Chelsea] knows what I am capable of,” he further stressed.

“I just need to focus on my career, give my best all the time and let my football speak for me.

The former Standard Liege defender presently agreed to a second loan spell return to English Championship team Middlesbrough.
