Van Ginkel feels optimistic ahead of the new season

Chelsea midfielder Marco Van Ginkel feels the upcoming season is going to be a good one and claimed that he is ready for the new season.

The 21-year-old spent most part of last season on the sidelines after he suffered anterior cruciate ligament injury, in a League Cup match against Swindon Town FC. This knee injury kept him out for about six months.

The dutch U21 captain added that he has put last season’s ordeal behind him and is hoping for a better season. The midfielder further stressed that ChelseaÂ’s Pre-season match against Vitesse is one that he looks forward to.

I am feeling good. I took a rest for maybe one week and then I started doing some exercises. He told ChelseaÂ’s official website.

“Pre-season training is going good now so hopefully the coming weeks will go well also. It was not the best for me to get injured so soon after joining a new club but it happens. Now it is better and hopefully this is a good year for me.”

“At the end of July we play Vitesse and it will be good to go back, now in the other dressing room,” he acknowledges. “I am looking forward to this game.”

The former Vitesse player is currently with Chelsea FC first team as they begin preparations ahead of the upcoming season.
