It has today been confirmed that AC Milan have approached Chelsea over the loan signing of striker Fernando Torres.
Rumours of Torres making a loan move to Italy have been hot over the last few days, but Milan have now confirmed that they have approached the Blues over the troubled striker.
The Italian club’s vice president, Adriano Galliani, told Milan’s official website:
Torres is certainly an important forward and we will see if we can sign him or another player.
“We will see if we are able to acquire an important forward. This is our main aim”, he added.
Torres hasn’t had a look in during either of Chelsea’s opening two Premier League fixtures as he finds himself even further down the pecking order than last season.

Milan are looking to replace Mario Balotelli who recently moved to Liverpool for £16 million.
He also confirmed that they have made a bid for Marco van Ginkel, and said they are “awaiting a response” from The Blues.
Galliani further stressed his interest in the duo when talking to the club’s TV Channel:
Torres…is a great striker. We are actively working [on a deal]. Van Ginkel? We are confident.
Chelsea would surely look to replace Torres if he were to leave, with rumours of Chelsea’s interest in Milan striker Mattia Destro still hot in the press.
