Marco van Ginkel set to leave Chelsea?

Reports in Holland suggest that Marco van Ginkel’s agent has stated that the midfielder is open to a move away from Stamford Bridge after just one year at Chelsea.

Marco van Ginkel’s agent has hinted that the 21 year old may be looking for a move away from Chelsea, after signing for an undisclosed fee last summer.

However, his season was cut short by injury last September as he ruptured knee ligaments just 10 minutes into his full debut.

Due to this, his chances at Chelsea since have been limited, and he was entirely excluded from Chelsea’s squad to face Burnley last Monday.

Now, his agent, Karel Jansen, has confirmed that they are holding talks with the club over what the future holds for the midfielder.

We are in talks with Chelsea. Of course Marco wants to battle for his chances, but there must be a sort of perspective.

“Monday evening wasn’t that pretty to see[not being in the squad]. We are now waiting for an answer on Chelsea and their vision,” Jansen added.

However, he ruled out a move back to Holland for the youngster, “mainly as he has already played a part at a club of such a level.”

PSV Eindhoven technical manager Marcel Brands claimed that Chelsea may think the Dutch league “has become too low level” the loan players out to, if that was what Chelsea were to do.

He also added that he is the type of player that Chelsea would loan to a Premier League club instead. Van Ginkel signed for Chelsea from Vitesse Arnhem.

However, these quotes from the midfielders agent suggest that if van Ginkel is to leave, he would like it to be a permanent move away from Stamford Bridge.
