Chelsea 3 – 0 Tottenham – Match Report

It looks like our legend Didier Drobga can still be a key player in this Chelsea team after they saw off Tottenham last night at Stamford Bridge.

Belgian talisman Eden Hazard and Didier Drogba struck two goals in the space of 3 minutes to get the blues on their way.

Last time Tottenham played at the Bridge back in February, they were beaten 4-0, and I don’t think it would be needed to stress the fact that, in their current form, if you want to beat this Chelsea side, you must put in an outstanding performance.

Some sloppy defending from Aaron Lennon cost his side the first goal before the unusual happened a minute later when Hugo Lloris was the subject of a bad goalkeeping error.

After 25 minutes gone, being 2-0 down, Spurs knew it was practically over and were coming to terms that they wouldn’t win at the Bridge once again.

Spurs improved and played better in the second half but nothing too worrying for Chelsea’s defence even though Gary Cahill had to be replaced by Kurt Zouma after a clash of heads with Vertonghen.

This eventually lead Chelsea to be locked tight in defence so that the Special One was able to give Cesc Fagregas the last 15 minutes of the game off.

The Frenchman Loic Remy was a late subsitute and came in with 15 minutes remaining on the clock and dispelled any remaining Tottenham when he slotted the ball past his French teammate Hugo Lloris.

Chelsea are still top of the Premier League with 36 points and will travel to Newcastle this weekend.

Top scorer Diego Costa who sat in the stands yesterday after his suspension from his 5th yellow card of the season, will be back and raring to go.
