Chalobah in Midst of Possible Loan Move to Bordeaux

Nathaniel Chalobah has returned to Chelsea from his unfruitful loan spell with newly-ascended Burnley. Burnley are currently in 19th place having only won three games of 20 so far this season.

When Chalobah signed on loan for Burnley many thought that the young English midfielder was going to finally show his parent club, Chelsea, that he can indeed play well in the Premier League.
Alas, 20 games went by and Chalobah featured in just 4 of them, as a substitute. Now that the former Sierra Leone citizen has returned to Cobham, Mourinho is looking to loan him out yet again in order to get him some first team football, but this time in France.

Chalobah has made 21 appearances for the English U-21 side and is looking to come out from this period of stagnation that he suffered while at Burnley. Before Burnley, Chalobah succeeded with Watford and almost helped get them promoted under former Chelsea player and then Watford manager, Gianfranco Zola, but fell short, much like his compatriot, Patrick Bamford did with Derby County last season.

Chalobah then went on loan spells to Nottingham Forest and Middlesbrough where he also experienced relative success, although he did not start in as many games as he did with Watford. With Burnley many were expecting him to make the leap into the Premier League and pin down a spot in Sean Dyche’s starting XI for The Clarets, but sadly he could not.

If Chalobah does end up going to Bordeaux on loan then may he be as successful as possible and show Mourinho and the other trainers that he, like Ruben Loftus-Cheek and many others, deserves to get a decent shot at the Chelsea first team.
