Mourinho: Costa will start

Mourinho, Remy and Zouma were all part of today’s press conference in Paris.

Mourinho was questioned on whether Costa will start and he responded:

Yes, I start him. But I don’t think it’s good for a player to be three weeks or three matches without starting a game, so I don’t think he’s in the best of his condition.

Mourinho then confirmed that the only injury in the squad is Mikel, he didn’t train this morning and has stayed in London. Oscar has returned from his minor injury.

Jose also revealed to the media that he hasn’t told Cech or Courtois who will be starting in goal tomorrow.

He doesn’t believe that Chelsea are behind the favourites Bayern Munich and Real Madrid. He says anyone can win the competition.

The Champions League often surprises, in the past decade, it’s 50-50 between the favourites and outsiders winning the trophy.

He also promises the Parc des Princes that they will see a different Chelsea to the one they saw last season.

He then went on to say: ‘Last season, we beat them despite a loss in Paris. We didn’t win because we were better, but because we scored that away goal.’

Mourinho rarely fails to add some humour in his press conferences:

A journalist told Mourinho that PSG might be tired since they played at the weekend whereas Chelsea didn’t. He started to laugh and replied, ‘ When the French players were on holiday at Christmas we were playing five games in ten days.’

Zouma and Remy also spoke to the media.

Kurt Zouma spoke on how Terry and Cahill had helped him improve ‘rapidly’. He then said he was proud to be compared to Desailly but was then quick to warn the media that he doesn’t deserve to be mentioned in the same breath as him yet.

Zouma: ‘I faced Ibrahimovic when I was playing for Saint-Etienne. He’s well above average both physically and technically.’

Remy then added that PSG won’t be easy.

Despite their injuries, my Champions League experience tells me it will definitely not be easy vs PSG. We must be vigilant.
