Fernando Torres has always had a respectful relationship with his former manager Jose Mourinho, however, he may have damaged this relationship by claiming Jose relies on money to get trophies.
Fernando Torres joined Chelsea back in 2011 from Liverpool for £50m but failed to reproduce the form he has had with the Reds and Torres then found himself replaced by Diego Costa last summer.
Since then, he went on loan to AC Milan, before eventually join his childhood side Atletico Madrid to try and fill in for the departed Diego Costa. So far he has scored three goals since joining last month and when asked whether or not his current manager Diego Simeone had the same attitude as Jose, he said:
It’s difficult and they’re very different. It’s not the same being on the team, where you want players, you then spend the money and after that they win, that’s what makes Mourinho.
“That’s not easy, and with Simeone, the experience you have with Atleti is winning with other resourcesâ€
Mourinho better not see or hear what the Spaniard said, because he could get in trouble.
However the Spaniard was quick to tone it down and said, “ I don’t know what would Mourinho do at Atleti and Simeone at Chelsea but what i like is that they’re very intelligent to adapt to what they have.â€
