The FA decided yesterday to not repeal the red card, Matic got against Burnley. They only made it from a 3 Match ban to 2 Match ban (if you want to know more about how the FA decided then go and read the article, which was written yesterday). That means that the serbian will miss the Capital one Cup final against Tottenham Hotspur.
So who should replace Nemanja Matic, who is the best Chelsea player in the view of many Chelsea Fans. Many would have rather had Matic in the final than Hazard. Chelsea FC will surely feel that Matic isn’t on the field, or won’t they?
Matic is gonna miss 100% against Tottenham and it looks like Mikel will miss too so there will be only Ramires and Fabregas. But Chelsea also has two young players like Nathan Aké and Ruben Loftus-Cheek who can play in the Centre Midfield and replace Matic.
But who should play now? Should it really be Ramires alongside Fabregas? or should it be one of the young players? I personally don’t think that Ramires and Fabregas will work.
They both are players who like to go forward and to play them both in the final against Tottenham who scored FIVE! against Chelsea would be a big mistake.
Now many would say, that to play Ramires would be better than Aké or Loftus-Cheek because he has experience. I don’t believe that it would be better to play Ramires, Aké and Loftus-Cheek have amazing Talent to give it to Chelsea and Chelsea should start to use it. But is it clever to play them in the final as a starter against Tottenham?
I think yes it will, because they would be motivated to show how good they are and they would give everything. Aké and Loftus-Cheek are also players who can defend very well, because they are natural defensive players. But who should play then, Aké or Loftus-Cheek?
I’m a bigger fan of Loftus-Cheek because always when I see him playing, it looks like Matic and Yaya Toure are playing in one. He is big, strong, quick with his feets, can pass and also can dribble, but it would still be better to play Aké, he is now 20 Years old and played more Matches with the first Team than Loftus-Cheek. So in my opinion Nathan Aké should play alongside Cesc Fabregas.
