Hazard joins the 100 goal club

It’s been a good week on the pitch for Chelsea Football Club – and a particularly good week for our young Belgian midfielder, Eden Hazard.

Last Sunday he was an integral part of the side that lifted The Capital One Cup at Wembley. Wednesday, he scored the winning and only goal against West Ham in our Premier League clash at Upton Park.

It was a crucial goal in terms of keeping us flying high, 5 points ahead, at the top of the table with a game in hand. This was his 100th career goal.

He scored 50 goals for Lille, has 6 at international level for Belgium and 44 for The Blues in the pot to date. So far this season he has scored 10 goals in the Premier League for Chelsea with 6 assists, and 2 goals with 2 set up for his colleagues in the Champions League.

Thursday night he was crowned London Footballer Of The Year at a glitzy reception in the capital.

Other honours going to The Blues were London Goalkeeper Of The Year (Thibaut Courtois) and Ladies London Footballer Of The Year (Ji So-Yun). The praise for Hazard’s mercurial skills come from all over the world and no one could have been happier than Jose Mourinho when he recently signed a new 5 1/2 year contract.

He told The Mail that he believes Eden can become one of the greatest players of his generation,

He is already a top player and his evolution has been fantastic. He is still a very young player and he can become the best.

Hear, hear! ….and I think we Chelsea fans were pretty happy too.

Keep The Blue Flag Flying High!
