Hull 2-3 Chelsea – Report & Ratings

Chelsea’s win yesterday means we remain 6 points clear at the top of the league with one less game to go.

We got off to a great start after Hazard skipped through the defence and scored with a lovely strike from far out. Then in the 9th minute Costa was played through by Fabregas, Costa used the defender as a shield to un-sight the keeper and he curled the ball into the far corner. Another great goal.

Hull responded with 2 goals in 2 minutes. Both goals consisted of poor defending from the blues. Hull’s first was hit across the box for an easy finish at the back post and their second was a tap in after a mix up from Ivanovic and Courtois.

But in the 73rd minute, Willian played the ball across the box to super sub Remy who placed the ball into the middle of the goal and into the back of the net! McGregor will be disappointed as he should of saved it.

Ratings

Courtois 6/10 – A really silly mistake for the Hull goal, but made up for it with some brilliant saves before that and then the impressive triple save in the second half.

Ivanovic  4/10 – Too many mistakes, and was caught too far forward on many occasions.

Cahill 5/10 – Did the best he could with the right side being opened up on every attack, we were lucky Hull couldn’t capitalise more.

Terry 5/10 – Didn’t seem to have his head in the game, seemed very absent.

Filipe Luis 6/10-  I think lack of game time has affected him he was okay.

Ramires 7/10 – Did his job defensively and in attack.

Matic 6/10 – Didn’t do his job protecting the back four, in a bad run of form.

Willian 7/10 – Some great defensive contributions and took the ball forward effortlessly.

Fabregas 7/10 – Great vision, did what he could in defence, on his way back to his previous form.

Hazard 8/10 – Great goal and did his job defensively, always looked like we would create with him on the ball.

Diego Costa 8/10 – Worked tirelessly for the team, took his goal really well – hopefully his injury isn’t too serious.

Subs

Zouma – 7/10 – Sat in front of the defence and protected well, should be starting.

Oscar – 7/10 – Played well and helped raise our game as we searched for a winner

Remy – 9/10 – Remy is a smart player and that showed straight away, his goal was very important and moved Chelsea closer to the title.

A very important win for the blues what are your thoughts.
