Chelsea managed to hold on to a slender 1-0 victory over their East London West Ham this evening.
Chelsea looked tired from their victory last weekend at Wembley which resulted in the first trophy of the season, where as West Ham seem to look a lot fresher after their 3-1 loss Palace.
It was a slow start to the game as both teams battled to keep possession of the ball, but it was Eden Hazard who headed the visitors ahead after some great build up play and  a beautiful cross by Ramires on the right hand side. The Belgium had nothing else to do but tuck the ball inside the net.

After the goal Chelsea looked well in control of the game at times and looked set to to remain the league leaders with a five point lead over rivals Manchester City.
West Ham troubled Chelsea from time to time in the first half, especially Sakho and Valencia, but both players failed to score, despite a couple of great opportunities.

After the break West Ham came back even stronger, they really kept fighting looking for the equaliser. In the last 15 minutes of the game Ramires was denied by the post and goalkeeper Adrian, while Sakho was kept out by Courtois as West Ham put their visitors under heavy pressure.
Chelsea really worked hard to get the three points and the big celebrations showed, Terry, Cahill and Ivanovic ran to Courtois and hugged him as the final whistle went.

Mourinho will now work hard and shift his mind for the game in the Champions League against PSG next week. The French Champions will travel to Stamford Bridge on March 11, but its Chelsea who hold the advantage having scored an away goal.
