Chelsea track £30m Brazillian defender

According to the Dail Mail, Chelsea are plotting a move for Brazilian Porto defender Alex Sandro once the summer transfer window is open.

Reports suggest Chelsea have been watching the Brazilian for some time and hope to complete a deal for him in the summer.

Chelsea are also prepared to let Filipe Luis, who only joined last summer, to leave the club, which may partly fund a deal for Sandro.

Luis is more likely, however, to be used as a sweetener in a deal that will see Chelsea sign Koke from Atletico Madrid.

He is reportedly wanted back by Atleti and Chelsea are ready to let him re-join the Spanish club if it means the Blues will get Koke.

Alex Sandro has been one of Porto’s best players this season. He has so far played 36 games and scored once for the club.

He joined Porto in 2011 from Maldonado of Uruguay. He reportedly has three years left on his contract, meaning it will take a great deal to prize him away.

The player is reportedly available for £30 million; a rather sizable sum considering the shrewd business Chelsea have done over the last year or so.
