Hazard’s Heroics

The number 100 seems to be a number that our Belgian maestro Eden Hazard has become very fond of! Recently he scored his 100th professional goal, a very respectable amount for a 24 year old. Today, Chelsea face QPR in a very important clash as we hope to push on towards the Title. Again, the number 100 is involved. Chelsea will be hoping to score their 100th Premier League goal today, and on top of that, our main man Eden Hazard plays his 100th Premier League game today! No doubt he’ll be hoping to top that stat off with an excellent performance, and perhaps a goal or two, who knows?

As of late, the spotlight has really been on Hazard, as he is lighting up the Premier League with his impressive technique, key passes, incredible dribbles, and all the rest. At this stage, I think all fans, regardless of what club they support, are finally accepting that Hazard has been and is the best player in the league this season. He provides entertainment week in week out without failure. His playing style is something to be admired. He has recorded 12 goals and 7 assists in the league this season, an impressive return considering Diego Costa has been our main man for goals and Cesc Fabregas has been our assist specialist.

Hazard has completed more successful take-ons than any other player and has provided the most key passes in the league, again adding to his ‘untouchable’ reputation. When he’s on form, there’s no player that can stop him.

Eden of course faces competition from other players that have really stood out this season. Harry Kane has emerged and established himself as a major goal threat, and he looks on course to beat Diego Costa to the golden boot as Diego faces a few weeks on the sideline with injury. His other main opponent for the PFA Player of the Year is Alexis Sanchez, who was outstanding in the first half of the season, but his form has dipped.

Consistency is the key for Hazard. Chelsea fans knows more than anyone else that no matter how good or bad Chelsea are playing, Hazard stands out. His turn of pace and rapid decisions can change a game in an instant. I wish Hazard all the best for the rest of the season, and in the battle for player of the year.
